Family-friendly bike route with 15 cultural landmarks that can be experienced along the way. You can also take a break in the lean-to shelter or use one of the many fishing spots.
Easy and family-friendly bike ride
The bike tour "Culture Round" at Drangedal is an easy and family-friendly round trip of 15 kilometers. The tour goes through gently undulating terrain and you will pass a number of interesting cultural landmarks such as log driving dams, timber huts, quarries, and crofters' cottages.
Start at Villmarkseventyret
You start the tour at Villmarkseventyret camping. It follows the log driving watercourse along Sætreelven and the old "rallarvegen," which was made in connection with the construction of the Sørlandsbanen railway between Lunde and Drangedal in 1922-1927. The bike route also partly follows the established bike route "Motbakken," and you can extend or shorten it as it suits you best.
For example, the trip can be extended a few kilometers to experience the Adventure Path (activity trail for children aged 3-11), Høidalsfurua (Telemark's largest pine tree), or a World War II aircraft wreck. The tour goes along lightly trafficked gravel roads, except for the last 2 kilometers which follow the lightly trafficked county road 3310.
