About

Open-air museum

Drangedal bygdetun is one of Norways most beautiful open-air museums, close to the forest and the pond Motjern. The museum offers 19 historical buildings from Drangedal, which date back to the 1700s to 1900s. In addition to the historic buildings, you will find a boathouse, a barbecue hut and a sawmill.

Here you will also find a large collection of different objects such as vehicles and craft, many utensils, interiors, textiles, traditional arts and crafts from 1700s to 1900s among other things.

Hiking opportunities and cultural events

There are also a number of hiking trails in the area, prepared for use both summer and winter.

Drangedal bygdetun is also a place for large and small events. Concerts, festivals and market days are arranged here.

Motorhome parking

In 2020, a motorhome parking lot has also been opened here. A nice place to spend the night with a motorhome, with a short way to shops, beach, cinema and culture house in the center of Drangedal.
