Gea Norvegica Geopark has information boards that show the very special geological history of the site.
From Rognstranda the trail runs partly through hut areas towards Hydrostranda. There are many nice detours to the sea for fishing or paddling.
Hydrostranda has a service center and shiny rock with excellent bathing possibilities. The swimming beach has a shallow, nice beach and great grassy area within.
The coastal path continues to the driveway for the cabin field, but it is possible to follow a special marked path over Svaneheia, just west of the beach. This trail is partly steep and can be difficult to walk if it is wet and slippery. Otherwise the trip is nice, with great views of the sea.
From the parking lot for Hydrostranda, the trail passes through the forest, partly on the road to the farm Kløvsgård and so on towards Vinjestranda. In the hill down to Vinjestranda it is recommended to take a detour to a great vantage point (sign) over Vinjestranda.
At the bottom of the hill you come to Vinjekilen. This has been an ice dam and is now a nature reserve. From here, the old road went to Bamble Church and there is now a pedestrian and bicycle path to the church from the area. The trail continues along the idyllic Vinjestranda, where there can often be large flocks of swans.
Parking:
On Rognstranda there is parking for visitors right outside the campsite boom. From the parking lot you enter the campsite towards the sandy beach. The information about the geopark is located on the west side of the beach. Here you meet the marks for the coastal path.
At Åby there is a private parking space for users of the coastal path. Follow Valleveien for a few hundred meters and turn left at your own parking sign for the coastal path. The car park is 60-70 m from Valleveien.
Along the trail there is a large parking area at the entrance to Hydrostranda. Here you will find the mark for the coastal path in the south-west corner of the parking lot.
Own parking space for users of the coastal path at Vinjestranda. After exit from E-18 you come to a junction (Y-junction), where you keep left. Parking on the left side of the road, with separate signs for parking to the coastal path.
Follow the road on foot a short distance to the marks for the coastal path.
