Far south in Bamble, along the coast, lies Valle, an archipelago gem with most amenities. Guest docks, service facilities, restaurant, ice cream kiosk, grocery store, small shops, and gallery.
Valle is a great starting point to explore the archipelago along the coast, or simply a day trip for a pleasant atmosphere on the pier. Bike route 1 also passes by here and continues south towards Kragerø and north towards Langesund. From Valle in Bamble, you can also take the taxi boats that will take you to all the islands along the Telemark coast. It is a short distance from here to Jomfruland, Stråholmen, and the other islands in the Kragerø archipelago.
Valle - the summer destination with many offerings
From Easter and throughout the autumn, Valle is teeming with tourists and visitors, and there are plenty of offerings. Here you will find a grocery store with a fresh produce section and a wide selection of goods, a fashion store, a clothing and interior store, an eyewear store, an ice cream bar, and a restaurant.
The history of Valle Marina and the fishing boat that found new life
Valle Marina was completed in 1998 after intense brainstorming by Bernt Erik Andersen and architect Henning Karlsen. The marina has become a landmark where a fishing boat from the 1950s is the centerpiece on the pier and can be clearly seen when entering Valle. The fishing boat is the last of its kind made of oak boards that were no longer in use. The owner of the fishing boat had lost interest and could no longer maintain it. The boat was supposed to be turned into firewood, but instead, it was transported to Valle. In Valle, it was scraped, repaired, and the bottom was cut to size with a chainsaw. The boat was later lifted onto the float where it stands to this day. The boat is surrounded by benches, and here you can find nice spots sheltered from the wind with fantastic views of the archipelago.
