34 reviewsWelcome to one of Norway's most beautiful campsites! With its unique location on the waterfront of Lake Norsjø, part of the Telemark Canal, it maintains its position as one of Norway's finest campsites. The campsite is only 20 minutes away from Bø Sommarland, Norsjø Golf Club, and the World Heritage Site in Notodden.
One of Norway's warmest places
As early as May, if the weather gods are kind, you can experience the idyll here. The area has been recognized by the Meteorological Institute as one of Norway's warmest places. First Camp Norsjø is constantly evolving to meet guests' needs and to become one of the best in Norway. The staff do their best to ensure that guests enjoy their stay, so they want to visit again and again.
Meet Yessi - children's best friend
At First Camp Norsjø, you are fortunate to have the opportunity to meet "Yessi," a happy animal. Our cool and adorable hostess welcomes all children to what is hopefully the best camping holiday. The kids' club is of course completely free for all camping guests. See the full program of activities at www.firstcamp.no/sommer.
3 different types of cabins
They have three different types of cabins at the campsite, some right by the shoreline and others up in the heights, all contributing to creating a beautiful and idyllic view no matter where you stay. They also have fantastic campsites right by the waterfront and near the beach, depending on your preference.
Akkerhaugen Cabin:
A cozy small camping cabin on one level with stunning sea views. The cabin has two bunk beds (75 cm) accommodating four people. There is a kitchenette with hot plates, fridge-freezer, coffee maker, as well as cutlery, plates, etc. for four people. The bathroom has its toilet, while there is a shower in the service building near the cabin. The terrace invites pleasant mornings and long evenings with beautiful views of the water.
Norsjø Cabin:
In the "Norsjø cabins," you can enjoy your stay in beautiful surroundings, right by all the facilities on the site. Just a stone's throw away, you will find a restaurant, beach, and playground. The cabin has a separate bedroom with a bunk bed accommodating two people. In the common living room, there is a sofa bed with the possibility of two extra beds. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchenette with hot plates, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and coffee maker. It is also adapted for disabled guests, with an extra-large bathroom that includes a shower and toilet. Outside the cabin, you can relax on a furnished balcony.
Beach Cabins and Telemark Cabin:
Here you will stay with a beautiful view of Lake Norsjø right by the water. In the two separate bedrooms, there is a bunk bed with space for a maximum of three people. The lower part of the bunk beds is 120 cm wide, and the upper part is a single bed. In the common living room, there is also the possibility of two sleeping places in a sofa bed. We would like to inform you that the cabin can be cramped if there are eight adults. The cabin is equipped with a kitchenette with hot plates, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, as well as cutlery, plates, etc. for eight people. The cabin has a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The veranda outside the cabin has outdoor furniture and is perfect for those who want a beautiful view and lovely camping evenings together.
It is possible to bring a dog for an additional charge of 220 kr in all our cabins.
The cabins can also be rented in winter.
Arctic Dome Glamping Tent
In July 2021, 2 Arctic Dome glamping tents were set up with a beautiful view directly onto Lake Norsjø. The glamping tents have their platform of 130 m2 with a ladder straight out to the water. Here there is sleeping space for 4 (double bed and sofa bed), including bedding, towels, and cleaning.
Check-in and out on your own
You can easily check in and out on your own if there are no staff between 09 and 16. At First Camp Norsjø, you will find a separate key box where you can both collect and return the key at check-in and check-out.
Canal tour with MS Telemarken
During the summer season, you can join a lock cruise with MS Telemarken, which sails from Akkerhaugen pier through the locks up to Lunde. The boat has its departures from First Camp Norsjø - Telemark. Check the timetable here.
Norsjø Cable Park and other facilities
The floral beauty and green lawns make you feel extra comfortable in the cozy bay at Norsjø. Here you will find an outdoor restaurant right by the water, a nice beach, playground, mini-golf, rental of canoes and pedal boats, and motorboats.
In addition, there is Norsjø Cable Park, a water ski lift over 550 meters long, where the whole family can try wakeboarding, water skiing, and kneeboarding. If you feel skilled enough, there are several jumps you can try. In 2014, First Camp Norsjø hosted the Wakeboard World Championships.
Rental of Norsjø Cable Park
You can also rent the entire park for yourself and some friends if desired. Contact us at norsjo@firstcamp.no or see the website here.
