Fishing in Lake Mosvatn and Bessevatn

Mosvatn and Bessevatn are centrally located in the municipality of Tokke and offer fishing with rod and otters from land, as well as ice fishing in winter.

The fishing license give the right to fish with sporting equipment and otters from land, within the current regulations in Nordre Bessvatn, Heimre Bessvatn and in Mosvatn. The license also give the right to ice fishing.  If you live in Tokke municipality, the week license applies as an annual license. 

Be careful with bonfires in the period 15/4 to 15/9. At the Mosvatn lake area there is a barbecue area where you can light bonfires on the beach.

Good fishing tips

In Mosvatn there is whitefish and trout. The whitefish is difficult to catch with rod, and option is to try with worm. For the trout you can use both fly, swallow and spin. Here it is plenty of fish, but the fish is usually small (200-350 grams)

In Nordre Bessvatn there is trout. Here, too, fish is good, but the fish is small (200-400 grams). Here you can also use fly, swallow and spinners.

In Bessvatn there is trout. Here the fish is more difficult to catch, but it is larger (250-550 grams). Same fishing gear is recommended as in Nordre Bessvatn.
