At Saga Chokoladefabrikk, at Sagasenteret in Skien, you will find a real chocolate factory.
Delicious treats are made here in all varieties. Whether you prefer a dark, decadent chocolate or marzipan coated with sweet, light chocolate, you will find something to enjoy in the small but exciting chocolate factory. Here you can buy good and tasty chocolate, not too sweet, but just the way we like it.
The raw chocolate is bought from Belgium, the quality marzipan comes from Lübeck, and it also has short-distance ingredients from local players in Telemark, such as mulberries, forest berries, jams and honey. The exclusive chocolate is made with a loving hand, and the chocolate factory is a universe of real and natural flavors.
The themes for their confectionery boxes are taken from local culture and nature. Telemark in all its glory is presented through beautiful natural gems, historical poetry and recent art.
Candy boxes
In Gaustatoppen XO, the pieces of confectionery, the mountain top is shown through the different seasons. Some of the pieces are filled with exclusive Gaustatoppen XO Bache-Gabrielsen Cognac. The cognac is a special well-stored mixture of the highest quality that is transported in large barrels from Cognac and brought with the Gaustabanen to a storage place inside Gaustatoppen. Here, the cognac is stored in oak barrels to get its own mountain aroma. In 2010, this confectionery was named product of the year in Telemark.
The confectionery box Ibsens Samlede was designed for the Ibsen anniversary in 2006; a tempting story with bits like Ibsen's bust, pen, floss hat and inkwell. From Hedda Gabler, we draw attention to the gun in dark chocolate with chili nougat, a beautiful, light doll illustrates A Doll's Home and as dark as the story Little Eyolf's Rat Maiden. The confectionery pieces are made in self-developed forms and are neatly packed in a box that shows Henrik Ibsen's first publication in book form. When you open the box, the Gamle Teateret in Bergen is shown, where Ibsen made his debut as a stage director. In the book that accompanies you can read about the poet's life and poetry from his birth in Skien to his last days in Kristiania.
