OUR CABINS
The Crown (Kronen)
The award-winning microcabin The Crown is located on the edge of the mountain 100 meters above Tokevann with spectacular views that just take your breath away. Nature and water on all sides and total silence are the first thing you notice where you stand on the large terrace next to the cabin.
The crown with an area of 15m2 is a warm and homely cottage with space for up to four people. It provides smart furnishings and the big loft for. This is the cabin for a small family or a couple who wants to retreat to enjoy nature and each other. Our self-designed microcabin was one of the finalists of the 2016 cottage prize where it ended with 3rd place, which we are very proud of. From the water the cabin has a light recessed wall that follows the mountain, and with its four large windows you have a good overview of what's going on. If you come thru the forest, the cabin looks like a forest cottage with wilderness dressing in osp from our own forest. There are windows on all sides so that nature comes all the way into the cabin.
There is a great wildlife around the cabin with little birds, squirrels, hawks and does. If you are lucky you will also see both beaver, moose and deer.
The Brave (Dristig)
This cabin is only for the most brave where it leans on 2 posts 7 meters above the ground! There is a balcony/terrace around the entire cabin with 360 degree views so you will always find a place in the sun, or shade if you prefer. With windows throughout the front and windows on either side you have nature, water and mountains as far as the eye can see. Here you have great opportunities to follow the wildlife from a bird's eye view.
The Brave is a luxury cottage where we not saved anything. You are sleeping under the ceiling in perhaps Norway's highest bed and its corresponding ladder. This specially designed iron bed has 210 cm high leg and easy to vacuum underneath. Delightful armchairs in real sheepskin with stool we hope you will find tasteful. At the cold kitchen you will find a refrigerator, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster and retro kettle from Kitchen Aid. Cooking on the hob and make the dishes you do at the outdoor kitchen right outside the door.
Outside there is a staircase up to the cabin where there is a small terrace where you have shade on hot days. During the cottage there is a dry platting where you have the sun right into the day. Beside you will find the gipsy inspired toilet.
As a guest at Mikrohyttene you will also be able to use Smia, our natur kitchen and outdoor products from Espegard.
The beach with rocks and clean water for our guests is a few minutes away.
