The cabin Bjørkbu is located deep in the forests of Drangedal, right on the border to Gjerstad municipality in Aust-Agder. Driving to the cabin is an experience in itself, where you drive many kilometers through beautiful forest areas.
Great location
The cabin is incredibly charmingly located by the lake Bjørkbuvannet, no cabins or other disturbing elements at a distance of kilometers. Here you can enjoy peace and quiet, nature and silence.
From the road you have to walk a couple of 100 meters to the cabin. The cabin is located by itself without other cabins nearby, here you can be at peace!
There is only a summer road to the cabin, as it is not plowed in the winter. Ussualy the road is drivable at the end of May.
Standard of the cabin
the cabin has simple standard. There is a double bed and a folding extra bed with mattress, with only 2 pcs. duvets and pillows. The remaining bed linen and duvet / pillow / sleeping bag you have to take with you yourself.
You must also bring consumables such as toilet paper, tea towels, washcloths, candles, etc.
There is a dining table with seating for 4 people, as well as a small kitchen with gas burner and everything you need for cooking. There is also a small gas fridge.
For heating there is a wood stove and fireplace.
A small photovoltaic system has been installed outside the cabin that provides electricity for light. It is therefore advisable to bring a power bank to charge equipment when needed.
The cottage has an outdoor toilet.
Outside the cottage there is a fire pit and chairs. The fire pit also serves as a grill.
