This is a very popular and wellknown area with at lot of trails and very child friendly. The path and trail network is extensive and the idyllic Hvitsteintjernet is a popular destination in the northern region, while Kverndammen is the hiking destination in the south of the area.
Solummarka has a particular number of burial mounds, burial mounds, forts and other historical relics.
A good starting point is from Skien Fritidspark, where there is good parking. From there, it’s a trail to Dansesletta with plain path and illuminated on to the end of the Jomfrudammen. There are several trail further up to the lake Hvitsteintjern.
Many also use the road between Rødmyr and Geiteryggen as a starting point for tours.

Spriten Kunsthall is located on Klosterøya, a few minutes walk from the center of Skien.
