Spaik is an urban artist, with colorful works inspired by Latin American folklore. He has done murals in both Central and South America and in Europe. Spaik working time toward a bachelor's degree in film studies. He brought Tom Erik Nykaas and Fredrik Sandal from Skien as permanent helpers on the Mill.
The subject of the Mill is designed at the request of Norgesmøllene themselves. They wished that the wall should have grains as a theme, and that the picture should include milling operations and grain sacks.
The artist behind the painting in Prinsessegata is David Milton Guinn from Philadelphia, USA. He is a professor of architecture and his works are documented in books, newspapers, magazines, on television and radio. He has had many solo exhibitions, and is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships.
