About

Hanakamjuvet is beautifully located in Kivledalen above Seljord center and is a popular recreational area, both in summer and winter. On clear days, you can enjoy a great view of Seljord and Seljordsvatnet, where the Seljord Lake serpent lives. There is an accessible road up with a parking area. We recommend driving up Gullnesvegen toward Kivledalen.

From the parking lot:
Walk a short distance back along the road, turn right, and follow the signs up towards Hanakamjuvet. Along the way, you can experience waterfalls, historic sites, gorges, and great viewpoints. For a nice circular route, turn right when you meet the road and follow it back to the parking lot. There are many beautiful natural areas along the road. An alternative is to follow the forest trail on the north side of Hanakamjuvet back to the parking lot.

Be a sustainable hiker
When exploring nature, it's essential to practice responsible behavior to preserve and respect the natural environment. This includes staying on the marked trails to avoid damaging ecosystems, taking your litter with you, and respecting local rules and restrictions. Make sure to avoid disturbing wildlife and be mindful of any special considerations related to protected areas. By acting responsibly during your outdoor activities, you contribute to maintaining the beauty and sustainability of nature, ensuring future generations to be able to enjoy it as well.
