The straw painters are still sitting her, and you can see how they hand-paint the popular straw pattern by hand.
Both the Auction Hall and the Porcelain Museum are located in the same area as the factory. In the museum you can see over 1000 porcelain objects from the first burning until more recent times. The museum has a nice design shop with artwork from local artists.
On the other side of the river, Porsgrunn Historielag opened in 2019 Tollboden Porcelain Collection. A very comprehensive collection which shows the porcelain from the first burning in 1887 until PP's design period in 1960-70. The museum is opened by agreement with Porsgrunn Historielag.
In Porsgrunn's main street, you will see porcelain art in the form of 8 porcelain rolls, named «Stations». The rolls are a tribute to the factory's designer Nora Gulbrandsen, who was artistic director from 1929 - 1945. The porcelain rolls give different variations in expression while spinning them.
