In Porsgrunn and Brevik, there are many and varied activity options. The proximity to water and the sea, bathing areas, and beautiful nature provide unique experiences in all seasons.
The outdoor activities are endless, with great nature trails, coastal walks on Bjørkøya, hiking in forests and fields, cycling, swimming, canoeing or kayaking, or going on a pole hunt.
At the Geopark visitor center, both young and old can learn about the ancient history of the earth. At the children's favorite place, DuVerden Maritime Museum + Science Center, there are many technical features and plenty buttons to press for both adults and children. Here you can experience technology, natural science, and maritime history in a completely new way. Exciting and educational!
Porsgrunn Library has a lot to offer to its visitors, and you can ask the staff for tips on books or audiobooks. If you feel like going to the movies, Filmsenteret Charlie shows a wide selection of current films. Skate enthusiasts can visit the Porsgrunn Skatepark, which is suitable for both advanced and beginners.
If you're tempted by the sea, you can enjoy the archipelago outside Brevik. You can go island hopping and experience the many different islands - there are actually 9 islands. You can hop from island to island and stay for a night or two. If you don't have your own boat, there are opportunities for sightseeing tours with MS Dikkon on Wednesdays and Saturdays in July. Or you can join round trips with the Brevik ferries. At Canal Boats Telemark, you can rent fully electric boats and travel out to sea or try your hand at locking on the Telemark Canal.
