Welcome to Åsbergtunet, a unique destination offering an authentic culinary experience and a peaceful retreat.
Owners Anette Forsdal Halvorsen and Stein Lund Halvorsen have transformed the farm into a charming farmstead with old log houses and a stunning view of Fyresdal's majestic mountains and waters.
Traditional cuisine based on local, sustainable ingredients
At Åsbergtunet, traditional food is served with care and love, based on local, sustainable ingredients produced on the farm itself - everything from organic broth, meat, and vegetables to homemade goat cheese, juice, and jams. They grow their own vegetables, fruits, and berries and keep chickens, horses, and goats.
Farm shop with a selection of homemade products
In the farm shop, you will find a selection of products, including goat milk soaps, ointments, knitwear, authentic goat cheese, blackcurrant jam, flatbread, and sourdough bread made from organic flour, all handmade on the farm.
Åsbergtunet is open by appointment and during announced café days
Åsbergtunet is open by appointment and during announced café days, and they look forward to welcoming you to an unforgettable experience of locally sourced, natural, and genuine food at their beautiful farm.
The history of Åsbergtunet
The history of Åsbergtunet is as fascinating as the place itself. Anette and Stein found their dream farm high up in the beautiful village of Fyresdal in Telemark in 2009, and after many years of work and love, their dream of running a guest farm and restaurant on their own land became a reality in 2020.
An old ski workshop from Morgedal, originally owned by the Hemmestveit brothers in Telemark, was relocated here and became Åsbergstøga, which is now the heart of the farmstead. The log house is furnished as a dining venue and farm café with delicious food and baked goods, and it opened to dining guests in June 2023.
Another log house from Eidsvoll has been set up and will open in the summer of 2024 for accommodation. It is a unique, cozy, and old house with a fantastic view and delightful evening sun. A large log house will be built by 2025 as an additional accommodation option, framing the farmstead and forming a "row farm." With its rich history and genuine love for the food they create, Anette and Stein have made Åsbergtunet a popular destination for culinary and nature experiences in Telemark.
