About

The well known artist and illustrator Theodor Kittelsen was born in Kragerø, and lived here for the first years of his life.

Kulturkameratene (the culture comerades) will guide you through an inspiring walk in his footsteps, through the narrow streets of Kragerø town and the places that helped shape the young Kittelsen in to the artist and person we know and love today.

Theodor Kittelsen has a significant place in Norwegian history of arts and folklore. He is widely known for his interpertations and illustrations of trolls and other mythical creatures , but he is so much more! He drew and painted people and nature, and was also an excellent satirist.

With his childhood home, and the charming town of Kragerø as our backdrop, we will take you on a journey to better undestand the man and the artist that was Theodor Kittelsen.

Group booking available all year round.
