We are happy to announce that we have gathered several handicraft people, from the West-
Telemark region, this summer. It is fun to see people using their hands, skillfully creating
beautiful items. We are focused on keeping these traditions alive, disciplines such as various
wood carving techniques, plant dyeing of yarn, blacksmithing, embroidering, silverwork and
much more.
Our aim is that every Thursday and Sunday handicraft traditions will be shown in the Tennant
Farm House on the grounds of West-Telemark Museum in Eidsborg. Some days a blacksmith
will be in the Lio Smithy, also on the grounds. All this is situated in the Activity Park wich also
contains a miniature version of the entire Telemark Canal.
You may take part in some of the activities, perhaps you want to try smithing or making your
own jumping rope?
Some of the products are available for sale directly from the handicrafter or in our Museum
Shop.
