Travelling to Dalen

From OSLO: E-18 from Oslo to Drammen, E-134 by Kongsberg and Notodden to Høydalsmo. Rv. 45 from Høydalsmo to Dalen. This is Suleskarvegen (http://www.suleskarvegen.no/) (season-open road between Oslo and Stavanger)

From BERGEN: Rv. 7 to Nordheimsund, and from Nordheimsund you drive Rv. 49 to Tørvikbygd. Take the ferry to Jondal. Drive to Odda by Rv. 550 heading south-east. From Odda take Rv. 13 to Seljestad, and take E-134 to Drammen. In Åmot you take Rv. 38 to Dalen.

From HAUGESUND: E-134 by Røldal to Drammen. In Åmot you take Rv. 38 to Dalen.

From STAVANGER: Suleskarvegen (http://www.suleskarvegen.no/) season open. Outside season: E-39 to Rennesøy, ferry from Mortaviga to Arsvågen. Follow E-39 to Aksdal, then E-134 to Åmot and Rv. 38 to Dalen.

From KRISTIANSAND: Drive through Setesdalen at Rv.9 to Rotemo, shortly after passing Valle. Drive Rv. 45 over Skafsåheia to Dalen.

From ARENDAL: Follow E-18 in 21 km heading for Oslo, take off at Rv. 415 going to Åmli, then Rv. 41 to Brunkeberg. E-134 from Brunkeberg to Høydalsmo, and Rv. 45 to Dalen.

From LARVIK: E-18 from Larvik to Porsgrunn heading to Kristiansand. From Porsgrunn take Rv. 36 to Skien and Seljord. From Seljord drive E-134 to Høydalsmo, then Rv. 45 to Dalen.

From Sandefjord. E-18 to Larvik and Porsgrunn heading to Kristiansand. From Porsgrunn take Rv. 36 to Skien and Seljord. From Seljord drive E-134 to Høydalsmo, then Rv. 45 to Dalen.

By bus:

Haukeliekspressen and Telemarkekspressen, combined with local bus-services, take you to Dalen from Oslo/Gardermoen, Sandefjord/Torp, Larvik, Haugesund, Bergen. Buss-change in Åmot. See timetable for local bus-service,  timetable for Haukeliekspressen or timetable for Telemarkekspressen.

By train:

From Oslo, Stavanger and Kristiansand, you can take the train to Bø, and from Bø take Haukeliekspressen or Telemarkekspressen.
