Sandøya is a small island community
Sandøya is a vibrant island community with approximately 340 permanent residents. Most people live in a rural and idyllic "center" near the ferry dock called "Kommunebrygga." From Kommunebrygga, there is a short distance to the bathing beaches of Grunntunga and Skolestranda.
Beautiful hiking area
If you want to find the pleasant and long-awaited tranquility, Sandøya is the place to visit. Feel free to follow the paths around the island and just enjoy yourself. A popular hike follows the trail over to Dikkon on the other side of the island. The trail through the forest is well-marked. If you prefer cycling, you can also follow the road.

At Dikkon, there is a ferry terminal for Breviksfergene, a campground, and a café. Here you will also find a large grassy area and two beaches.
Sandøya general store
Sandøya General Store is a popular place for residents and visitors. Here you can enjoy a meal or purchase groceries before continuing your wanderings around the island.
