Rognstranda Camping

About

Rognstranda is located in southern Norway, in Bamble municipality, 2 km from the E-18 between Oslo and Kristiansand. The campsite is idyllically located by the sea in the innermost part of Rognsfjorden on the Telemark coast. The area has one of Norway's finest beaches and boulders.

Norway's Top campsite
The campsite was named Norway's Top Campsite 2018 by the Norwegian Motorhome and Caravan Club.

Distances
The coastal town of Langesund is 7 km away with, among other things, the Wrightegaarden concert stage and Skjærgården bathing park. Large shopping center at Stathelle (6 km). Distance to Porsgrunn is 23 km, Skien 32 km and Kragerø 35 km.

Rognstranda Camping has over 100 drop-in pitches
Caravan and tent sites are spread over a sheltered grassy plain in the upper part and an area with sea views near the beaches and rocks. The campsite has a capacity for 250 caravans and tents. Dogs are welcome at the campsite. The season lasts from May 1 to August 31.

Family apartments
2 high standard family apartments are available all year round. The apartments have a capacity of 4 and 6 people respectively. The apartments are allergy friendly and therefore it is not allowed with a dog here.

Service building
At the campsite, there are two service buildings, one on the lower part, and a new high-quality service building on the upper part with its own family room and children's department. Both service buildings have kitchens with dishwashing facilities. The service building on the lower part has a laundry room with washing machines and dryers. There is a motorhome emptying station at the reception.

HC facilities
The HC toilets in the service building are HC-friendly. The toilets in the apartments are not completely optimally adapted for those with less functional ability. The toilets in the new building are HC-friendly.

Beach kiosk
By the beach is a beach kiosk that sells both groceries and kiosk goods. It is open during the school holidays.

Playground and activities
Rognstranda camping has one of the finest beaches in Norway and is every summer a regular feature on the list of bathing temperatures on the travel radio, NRK. You can swim from the beaches, lie on boulders sheltered from the wind or on the grassy plains that meander between the boulders. At the top of the campsite there is a ball binge and playground. There is a HC ramp on the beach.

Rogn is an area with varied walks on the Coastal Path in Bamble and cycling opportunities along the coast and inland. The popular destination Rognsåsen is right on the top of Rognstranda. Follow the blue-marked coastal path for a beautiful walk that gives you panoramic views down to the campsite and beyond the sea. By bike, you can roll away on lightly trafficked roads or bike paths. It is also possible to try your luck fishing in both the sea and freshwater fishing in one of the many lakes nearby.

Attractions nearby
In the immediate area are Badeparken, Bamble Golf Club, Tangen Fort and Trolldalen Fort from World War II.
In the summer you can also go on island hopping or Skjærgårdscruise along the Telemark coast.
The coastal town of Langesund is a central starting point for these experiences.
There are several eateries both along the coast and in the nearby towns.
The outdoor stage Wrightegaarden is open during the school holidays.

Rognstranda camping is a good starting point for day trips to Porsgrunn and to Skien with the Telemark Canal, DuVerden Maritime Museum + Science Center, Skien Leisure Park, Porsgrund Porcelain Factory, Porcelain Museum, Henrik Ibsen Museum with Ibsen Escape Room and Brekkeparken. In Brekkeparken in Skien you can join the Telemark Escape Room.

Bø Sommarland and the family park Hulfjell Gård are located approx. an hour's drive away. The zoo in Kristiansand is less than two hours drive south.

You will find a good selection of shops nearby at Stathelle, Langesund, Brevik, Porsgrunn, Skien and Kragerø.
