Welcome to Skåtøy cafe!
At the heart of Skåtøy island, approx. 30 min walk from the ferry doc you'll find Skåtøy cafe. During the high season you'll find a buzzing atmosphere here, with people enjoyng food and drinks, concerts, art exhibitions and more. The cafe is a popular venue for both locals and visitors alike.
In 2023, locals living on the island bought the cafe and their ambition is to keep it open all year round (althogh the cafe will not be open every day in the low season, so make sure you check opening times on their facebook or website before visiting). When the weather isn't the best, you can enjoy the cozy and warm atmpshpere indoors, whereas on hot days you can sit out in the lovely garden enjoying the sun.
The area around the cafe is great for hiking, cycling/trailbiking and exploring the surroudnings. Near the cafe you'll fint one of Norway's largest wooden churches! For more info on what you can see and do on Skåtøy island, check out this map with descriptions.
It only takes 10 mins to get to Skåtøy from Kragerø town centre by ferry, and as from september 2023 it's free to take the ferry to all the islands that has ferry connection in Kragerø.
