Berg-Kragerø Museum promotes art, history, holiday life, coastal culture and export of natural ice in Kragerø - Make sure you explore the Edvard Munch exhibition.
Berg-Kragerø Museum is idyllically located at Berg beside Hellefjorden Kragerø. Here you will find the Homann family's summer recidence, where several cultural personalities lived in the 19th century and the early 20th centuries. These summer recidence is a testament from a time when timber and natural ice export created employment and great wealth.
In 1927, Miss Henriette Marie "Jeia" Homann (1866-1943) bequeathed the entire property, with all of the buildings and contents, for a museum. Later, several historical buildings were moved to Berg-Kragerø Museum. The property covers almost 700 acres with linden gazebo, park area, a large forest, hiking trails, exhibition building and many historical buildings.
