Dalen in Tokke is located in the heart of Telemark at the upper end of the Telemark Canal. A journey on the Telemark Canal from 1892 is a journey in nature and culture, through locks and canals and across large lakes where nature is constantly changing. The canal stretches 105 km inland from Skien to Dalen - a unique piece of cultural history from coast to mountain.

Tokke offers a wide range of attractions and rich culture. Here you will find fantastic cultural treasures both along the road and at museums. Vest-Telemark Museum with beautiful exhibitions and storytelling and an activity park with miniature model of the Telemark Canal. The beautiful Eidsborg stave church from 1250 - a living parish church with a unique history. Åmdals Verk Mines with exciting mining and geology exhibition. Grimdalstunet with sculptures by the sculptor Anne Grimdalen. Ravnejuv - spectacular lookout point and 350 meter high gorge; throw a leaf  out and see it come up with the air! Dalen Hotel - the fairytale hotel from 1894. Rui where the beautiful Rui girls Ingerine and Gurine lived.

For those of you who love hiking, Dalen and Tokke is paradise! We have many well-marked and beautiful hiking trails from lowlands to high mountains. Spectacular Lårdalstigen, beautiful Sherpa stairs to Rui and on to Eidsborg with a walk to Brynsteinbrotet. Here everyone can find their favorite hiking trail! You get the feel of nature everywhere - whether you are out hiking, paddling or cycling along the Telemark Canal or fishing for big trout in Tokkeåi river. Soria Moria Sauna is a perfect end to an active day in nature!
